Lashkar-e-Taiba Co-founder Amir Hamza Shot in Pakistan; Condition Critical

Lahore, April 17: Amir Hamza, co-founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba, was critically injured after unidentified gunmen opened fire on him in Lahore, Pakistan.

According to reports, the attack took place near a television channel office shortly after he stepped out following a media appearance. Two assailants on a motorcycle reportedly targeted his vehicle and fled the scene after firing multiple rounds.

Hamza sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition. This marks the second assassination attempt on him within a year, raising concerns over a pattern of targeted attacks on high-profile militant figures.

Police have launched an investigation, but no group has claimed responsibility so far. The motive behind the attack remains unclear.

Security analysts note that a series of similar attacks on extremist leaders in Pakistan in recent years may point to internal rivalries or covert operations targeting such individuals.

Authorities have tightened security in the area as the probe continues.
