Habitual Offender Arrested in Kanyakumari for Brutal Murder of Kerala Woman in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: In a major breakthrough, law enforcement agencies have apprehended a Kollam native from Kanyakumari in connection with the tragic murder of a woman in Bengaluru. The victim, identified as Sunitha from Vadanappally in Thrissur, was fatally assaulted at her workplace after she resisted a sexual advance.

The horrific incident unfolded at a dog shelter managed by the accused, Deepak Krishnan, where Sunitha and two other women were employed. According to authorities, tensions escalated when Krishnan attempted to sexually assault the victim. Following her fierce resistance, the three employees declared their resignation and intent to return to Kerala. Enraged by their defiance, Krishnan subjected Sunitha to a savage physical attack, beating her until she lost consciousness.

The assailant then locked the severely injured victim and her terrified colleagues inside the premises before absconding. Acting on an urgent alert, local police arrived at the scene, rescued the trapped women, and rushed a critically injured Sunitha to a nearby medical facility. Despite extensive medical intervention, she succumbed to her grievous injuries.

Investigators have revealed that Krishnan is a notorious criminal with a sprawling dossier. His past illicit activities include orchestrating a multi-crore financial scam in Dubai in 2017, after which he reportedly fled to India using forged travel documents. Furthermore, he is implicated in a narcotics case in Thiruvananthapuram and was previously booked for vandalism at a Kochi veterinary hospital, where he allegedly created a ruckus and tore up currency notes. Further interrogations are currently underway.
